My Exercise In Futility

Rather than focus on the negatives, I’ve tried to create a video blog entry about the positives. Winter Party is only 5 days away, I’ll be home (for good) soon, and I’ve caught up on my reality TV.

I know it’s been awhile since my last blog entry, and I apologize for that. I know you’ve all missed me. Therefore, I’ve made a video blog entry. Now, I must warn you, the camera angle forced me to look down into the camera the whole time and therefore, I look bug-eyed. I swear I don’t always look that surprised!

Between work travel schedules, money issues, and family issues, I had really given up all hope of attending Winter Party 2009. But, a series of unfortunate events actually landed me in Naples, FL just a week prior to the event. And now that everything is moving in a postive direction and things are looking brighter, I have some time to go out and celebrate. So, I will be making the trek from Naples to Miami tomorrow morning.

Although I am going to miss the 5 Ring Circuit event on Friday night, I will arrive just in time for the Under One Sun Pool Party at the host hotel, the DoubleTree Surfcomber. There’s nothing like a couple of relaxing cocktails while hot, shirtless men dance around and in the pool. I didn’t participate in this event last year as much as I wanted to, but when I did finally arrive, it wasn’t hard to find a hot guy to make out with.

While I am usually not a big beach person, the Winter Party Beach Party takes place on Sunday afternoon. Last year, I wasn’t in to the music. But this year, one of my top five favorite DJ’s, Tracy Young, is spinning at this event. Tracy is always very good about building up the music and keeping the engery at appropriate levels.

As far as Sunday night is concerned, I haven’t decided if I will stick to the official Winter Party events or if I might stray and visit Peter Rauhofer and Offer Nissim at Mansion on Sunday evening. I haven’t heard the two of them together for quite some time, and it would be a shame to miss them.

I plan on closing out my Winter Party festivities with the Red Eye party. Last year, Peter spun at this party, and I think it was one of the best events that Winter Party hosted. I hope this year it will be just as exciting with DJ Abel. He usually does a very good job at the Alegria Events, so I don’t think I will be disappointed.
