My Exercise In Futility

I didn’t have any place special to travel to this weekend, so the tour for this week is of Wolfsburg, Germany. Wolfsburg is home to a Volkwagen plant, the Volkswagen arena, and the Autostadt. It appears that everything else in Wolfsburg is there purely because of or in support of the plant. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice little town – but it’s small.

In the spirit of my Berlin tour, I decided to give you a tour of Wolfsburg. There was no need for me to get on a bus this time, it’s a walking tour. I know it doesn’t look like much, but honestly, there isn’t that much to this place.

Overall, this week has been pretty good. There might be one or two things I would change about work, but that’s always the case. I left Wolfsburg this weekend and headed for Berlin. I attended the HustlaBall. Of all the times not to have a still or movie camera handy! But, I honestly didn’t think I would have been allowed to bring one in to the event. Boy was I wrong! It’s all for the best. I would have had to password protect those entries!

Instead I thought I might interest all of you in a small tour of Berlin. I took some footage using my Flip Camera while on the Berlin Bus Tour. I uploaded the video and edited it with iMovie on my MacBook. It was a very quick edit, so one or two of the segments may seem ‘long’ in terms of the building or scenery I am showing. Come on, give me a break! It’s my first ‘tour’ video. Anyway – enjoy! Leave comments!

Things in Germany are going well. I have decided that I do like Germany better than Paris so far. I also think Germany, in particular the city of Hanover where I am staying, is a good influence on my overall health. I’ve been on an exercise kick lately, motivated by the numerous runners I watch circling the 5k track around the lake my hotel sits on. I mention this and a few others things in my video.

I made this video in a Starbucks. I thought you guys might be sick of watching the videos of me sitting in the hotel room. You’ll notice a few German onlookers who must have thought I was crazy for sitting in the middle of a Starbucks talking to my computer; I am going to try and compile some video of me wandering about Germany as well. That will have to wait until subsequent weeks, though.
